103Food preparation and cooking skills are a really important part of eating more local seasonal produce. Once you’ve grown vegetables in your garden or allotment, or bought local produce from a Community Food Moray stall, a farm shop or at the farmers’ market, then what? It takes a little know how to turn basic foodstuffs into tasty meals.

Moray Food Network is keen to support cooking skills, particularly for those who have not cooked much before. At the moment, we do this in two ways.
We train people to cook. We also train people to run cooking workshops. We use ‘Confidence to Cook’, an NHS Grampian resource that promotes healthy eating messages through practical hands-on cookery sessions.
